Swine enterovirus are found in the intestine, although their clinical significance is questionable.
Description
Swine enteroviruses are viruses living in the intestine. Its clinical importance is questionable. Before it was associated with the syndrome called "SMEDI" with enteroviruses; but not anymore. This acronym stands for stillbirths, mummified, embryonic death and infertility. Enteroviruses are subdivided into serotypes from which Teschen and Talfan have been moved to the Teschovirus genus.
Symptoms

Causes / Contributing Factors
- Ingestion of infected feces.
- Failure in the acclimation of gilts.
Diagnosis
It has no clinical importance. If needed, virus isolation and serology must be performed.
Control/Prevention
None.
