China sees record pork production as imports fall
While Chinese imports of pork products in 2025 decreased by 8.5%, pork production increased to more than 59 million tons.

Imports of pork products
In 2025, Chinese imports of pork products declined again, albeit at a more moderate pace compared to the previous two years. China imported 970,000 tons of pork and 1,190,000 tons of offal, representing decreases of 8.5% and 3.3%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
Compared to five years ago, pork imports have fallen by almost 78% compared to 2020, while offal imports have also fallen, albeit to a lesser extent, declining by 12%.
New record in pork production
Following a slight decline in 2024, pork production in China reached a record high of 59.38 million tons last year, up 4.1% from the previous year.
