Angel Manabat

Dr. Angel Manabat received his DVM degree from the University of the Philippines in 1988 and has been involved in the swine industry for more than 30 years. This started when he worked as a Training Specialist at the International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ITCPH), after, he joined Monterey Foods Corp. – San Miguel Foods Corporation, where he last headed their breeding operations department. He was also at one time connected with Novartis Animal Health Philippines as their Technical and Marketing Manager. In 2007 he joined PIC (Pig Improvement Company), as Technical Services Manager for the Philippines, where he was focused on developing and training people and providing technical support to farms. He spent 5 years working in China from 2012 to 2017 as Regional Technical and Health Assurance Director for PIC Asia. Today he is again based in the PIC Philippines office, but still actively supporting the Asia region. 

He has been awarded Outstanding Veterinary Practitioner in Swine Practice and Outstanding Farm Veterinarian by the Veterinary Practitioners Association of the Philippines and The Philippine Veterinary Medical Association respectively. 

He is a Fellow and currently the President of the Philippine College of Swine Practitioners.
