Ken Steen Pedersen

Ken Steen Pedersen graduated as a veterinarian in 2003 from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. From 2003 to 2010 he was veterinary assistant and co-owner of Ø-Vet A/S, a specialized swine practice that provide veterinary consultancy to the swine industry throughout Europe, including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and the Baltic countries. The company is based in Denmark and consists of 11 specialized swine veterinarians and 3 office personnel.

Ken has also been employed as Assistant Professor at the University of Copenhagen and Chief scientist at the Danish Pig Research Center where he did research on diarrhea in pigs as well as how to best examine a herd. In 2011 he became one of the first diplomates by examination of the European college of Porcine Health Management (ECPHM) and he obtained a PhD in 2012.

On a daily basis, he is CEO and co-owner of Ø-Vet A/S. He is also involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching, supervision of PhD students and residence of ECPHM, different research projects and collaborations with different companies and institutions.

In 2015 he was appointed as Affiliated Associated Professor at University of Copenhagen.
