Tissue

It is an organized set of cells with a coordinated physiological function and a common embryonic origin, such as for example: muscle tissue, bone tissue, neural tissue, skin tissue, etc.

In animals there are four basic tissues: epithelial, connective, muscular and nervous.

The branch of biology dealing with the study of organic tissues is histology.
