Hanchun Yang

Dr. Hanchun Yang is a professor of College of Veterinary Medicine at China Agricultural University (CAU), focusing on swine viral diseases including porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), PCV2-associated diseases and porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED).

He is Director of Key Laboratory of Animal Epidemiology and Zoonosis of the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) Board Member, Scientist of Swine Disease Control of China Swine Research System, Chief Scientist of The National Key Basic Research Plan of China, and Principal Investigator of Key project of Natural Science Funds of Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

Highly Pathogenic PRRS (HP-PRRS) in Asia

A lot of work needs to be done for controlling HP-PRRS completely. The implementation of proper regional control and eradication programs against PRRS is necessary in China and the Asian countries. Meanwhile, the increasing diversity of the PRRSV should be taken into consideration for developing more effective and safe vaccines.
