Welcome to the International Symposium on Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus and other Swine Viruses (IPRRSS) 2026, which will be held from 6th to 8th October, 2026, in Barcelona, Spain. We are honored to bring together researchers, veterinarians, industry professionals, and students from around the world to exchange knowledge and share the latest advances in the understanding, prevention and control of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS). PRRS continues to represent one of the most persistent and economically significant diseases in global pig production, demanding coordinated research efforts and innovative solutions. The comprehensive scientific program will feature keynote lectures by leading international experts, oral and poster sessions, and interactive discussions covering a wide range of topics — from molecular virology, pathogenesis and immunity to diagnostics, epidemiology and vaccination strategies, among others. While PRRS remains at the heart of this event, the symposium will also address other major viral diseases impacting swine health and production, including Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus, influenza A virus, and other emerging or re-emerging viruses of global relevance. This broader scope reflects the interconnected challenges faced by the modern swine industry. It is our goal that IPRRSS2026 serves as a unique platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, networking and innovation within the field of veterinary virology — helping to foster scientific dialogue, strengthen international collaboration, and promote new ideas that drive progress in swine health and virology.

UCUPPP is the National Council for collective protection of interests, promotion of Ukrainian pork in the global market. Founded in 2025 by the Ukrainian meat processors & pig farmers. The organization serves the interests of its industry members: producers, processing plants, trading companies associated members, and other key industries and government organizations to promote Ukrainian pork at home and around the world. UCUPPP has local and international experts in different offices in Europe, the USA, Asia, and Africa to improve access, awareness, and growth of the Ukrainian pork industry.

Linking extensive husbandry practices to the intrinsic quality of pork and broiler meat. mEATquality analyses consumer attitudes, perceptions, and preferences regarding sustainable meat production. The husbandry factors that determinate ‘extensiveness’ can be applied and optimised in organic, free-range and conventional production systems. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101000344.

Our professional union was formed by the leading Ukrainian meat processing companies. We are united with the commitment to share experiences, find ways to solve current problems and strengthen the position of Ukrainian producers in the domestic and global markets. Meat enterprises face tasks that cannot be solved single-handedly: Representation and protection of sectoral interests within legislative and executive power bodies Adoption of transparent standards for production and sales, harmonization of local requirements with EU legislation Livestock development as a source of primary produce for meat processing companies, formation of economic relations with suppliers on the basis of cooperation, trust and long-term planning Media support of the Association members, information support on the current market situation and upcoming areas of work Opening of new markets and sales channels, etc. We are convinced that the meat industry in Ukraine has a much higher potential than the achieved level. A strong feed supply for animals and vast rural areas, only half-saturated domestic market and a global shortage of meat, talented staff — all this indicates that Ukraine can be among the Top-10 global suppliers of both meat and meat products with high added value. The Ukrainian Meat Industry Association welcomes industry professionals that want to become a part of the progressive changes in the market.

WelFarmers project, included in the Horizon Europe Program, has officially started. Since 1st January 2024 and for three years, pig farmers, research centers and higher education institutions will be working togeth-er in the EU-funded project ‘WelFarmers’ where more than 50% of the pig production in Europe is repre-sented in the consortium formed by eight European countries. WelFarmers has been created to work on the four very important pig welfare EU Thematic Groups: Ban of cages- Loose housing of lactating sows. Undocked tails- Production of pigs with non-docked tails. Castration- Avoiding pain in castration. Space/flooring- Space allowance and flooring for growers and finishers Placing practitioners at the center of the R&I activities and with the clear objective to work “not only for practitioners but also with them” WelFarmers will accelerate implementation and increase acceptance of welfare solutions by identifying and sharing best practices to make it even more feasible to improve pig welfare on farms across Europe. From ruminants to insects, we aim at genetically improving various farm animal species, to better meet the challenges of sustainability and animal welfare. Technology, responsible science and innovation are key to our work and to the future of farming.

TSVA is a center for exchanging knowledge, opinions and experiences in Swine farming among members. Promote Swine veterinary careers to higher quality and standard. Support for education, research, work in the veterinary profession and practitioners.

Pinoy Porcine Practitioners, PCSP, is a network of veterinary professionals focusing on the practice of swine health and production. It is the mission of the College to elevate the standards of the swine practice, by continually assembling and exchanging information. PCSP provides continuing education in the areas of health, diseases and management. We are committed to provide leadership and vision capable of teaming with the Filipino hog producers.

The National Associationof Federal Veterinarians (NAFV) is a constituent body of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), formed during the AVMA annual meeting in 1918 by a small group of Bureau of Animal Industry veterinarians. It has grown to approximately 1,000 members since, and is recognized by the United States Department of Agriculture as the representative organization for federally employed veterinarians and as an association of managers and supervisors. NAFV strives to serve both veterinarians and the agencies they work for by facilitating communication, making suggestions for improvements, and working collaboratively to address issues of concern. As an advocate for veterinarians in federal service, NAFV emphasizes professionalism and expertise in federal service, while promoting continuing education, teamwork, and a standard of excellence. NAFV is staffed by a full time executive vice president, junior staffer and general counsel. The board of directors is comprised of a president, president-elect, vice president, and secretary-treasurer, all elected by the members on two year terms, as well as board representatives from various federal agencies and the military. Policy is established by the board during its annual two-day meeting, on conference calls, and/or through email. NAFV’s general membership meetings are held twice annually in concurrence with the AVMA and United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) conferences/meetings. NAFV members also work on NAFV projects and task forces. NAFV has Chapters throughout the nation where members meet and discuss issues of concern as needed. NAFV also has held consultation meetings with the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) to discuss management and supervisory issues with the purposes of improvement of agency operations, improvement of working conditions, exchange of information, improvement of managerial effectiveness, and establishment of policies that best serve the public interest in accomplishing the mission of the agency. Within FSIS, NAFV members are composed of public health veterinarians who are supervisors and managers that provide critical and valuable expertise and information to the agency in the development and implementation of food safety initiatives, agency programs, improvements in administrative matters and the functioning of the agency. Within APHIS, NAFV members are primarily Veterinary Medical Officers who manage and supervise the numerous national animal health (primarily livestock) programs, as well as the importation, exportation, and prevention of animal diseases, Veterinary Accreditation, and animal welfare. NAFV members also work to approve veterinary biologics, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) initiatives, Department of Homeland Security and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) initiatives.
