The first two weeks after weaning are critical, but new research shows that extending plasma supplementation into Phase 2 can deliver even greater performance benefits.

A study conducted by APC and IRTA demonstrated that piglets receiving Appetein, APC's granulated spray dried porcine plasma, during both nursery phases achieved significantly higher average daily gain and were 1.54 kg heavier at day 42 than pigs fed a conventional soy protein concentrate diet.

A newly published study evaluated the effects of different nursery feeding programs that included spray dried plasma, with pigs followed through to market weight.

The research assessed growth performance, health indicators, and carcass traits across production phases under commercial-style conditions. Results add to the body of peer-reviewed data examining relationships between early-life nutrition and later production outcomes.
