The HI98196 is a portable, logging, multiparameter meter that monitors up to 7 different water quality parameters. Its multisensor probe allows the measurement of key parameters including pH, ORP, dissolved oxygen, and temperature. The probe transmits digital readings to the meter, where the data points can be displayed and recorded. The use of digital communication allows for noise-free data transfer up to 100 meters in length.

The complete system is simple to set up and easy to use.

Main Features

Backlit Graphic LCD Display: The HI98196 features a backlit graphic LCD display with on-screen help and the ability to display up to seven parameters simultaneously. The graphic display allows the use of virtual keys for an intuitive user interface.

Waterproof Protection: The meter is protected in a waterproof housing with an IP67 rating and can withstand immersion in water to a depth of 1 m for up to 30 minutes. The probe has an IP68 rating for continuous immersion in water.

Digital Quick Discharge Probe: The HI7698196 probe features a quick-connect connector that establishes a waterproof connection with the meter.

Color-Coded Field-Replaceable Sensors: Sensor replacement is quick and easy with field-replaceable, screw-type connectors that are color-coded for easy sensor port identification.

Automatic Sensor Recognition: The probe and meter automatically recognize connected sensors. Any unused ports on the probe will not be recognized. The displayed parameter can be configured.

Automatic Temperature Compensation: The integrated temperature sensor allows for automatic temperature compensation of pH measurements.

Standard or Rapid Calibration: Rapid calibration provides quick and easy pH calibration. Standard pH calibration options are available for calibrating up to three points from a selection of five standard buffers and one custom buffer.

GLP Data: The HI98196 meter includes a GLP function that allows users to access calibration data and calibration expiration information with the touch of a key. Calibration data includes the date, time, solutions/standards used for calibration, and slope characteristics.

Data Logging: allows users to store up to 45,000 continuous or login samples with logging intervals from one second to three hours.

Intuitive Keypad: rubber keypad with dedicated keys for power, backlight, up/down arrows, help, and alphanumeric characters. The meter also features two virtual programmable keys that navigate the user through each parameter window, the meter, and the data log. The interface is intuitive for any user's experience level.

Dedicated Help Key: contextual help is Always available via the "HELP" key. Tutorial instructions and messages are available on the screen for quick and easy access by users. The help information displayed is relevant to the option currently being viewed.

PC Connection: Recorded data can be transferred to a Windows-compatible PC using the included HI920015 micro USB cable and HI9298194 software.

Extended Battery Life: The meter display has a battery indicator icon to show the remaining power. The meter uses four 1.5V AA batteries that provide up to 360 hours of runtime.

Robust, Thermoformed Carrying Case: The HI98196 meter, probe, and all accessories are supplied in a robust carrying case designed to provide years of use. The interior compartment of the carrying case is Thermoformed to securely hold and protect all components.

Probe Details

The HI7698196 is a multiparameter pH/dissolved oxygen/temperature probe for use with the HI98196 portable meter.

It features a quick-connect fitting that creates a waterproof connection with the meter. The sensors are automatically recognized by both the probe and the meter when connected. Any unused ports on the probe will not be used.
