Degree and PhD in Veterinary Medicine with European distinction and Outstanding Doctorate Award from the University of Cordoba in 2004 and 2009, respectively. He worked as the head of R+D projects in the Primary Production Area of the CICAP Technological Center (Pozoblanco, Córdoba) from 2010 to 2015. He has done several post-doctoral stays in prestigious institutions such as the University of Surrey (UK), the Pasteur Institute (France), the Peter Doherty Institute (Australia) and the University of Montreal (Canada). He was the recipient of a "Ramón y Cajal" research grant contract and is currently a Full Professor at the University of Cordoba, integrated in the research group AGR-137 "Animal Pathological Anatomy. Pathogenic Mechanisms".
