Laura Valls Vila

Laura Valls Vila was born in La Garriga (Barcelona) in 1984, he graduated at the Veterinary Faculty of the “Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona” (UAB) in 2008. During the last years of her career she was collaborating in the “Departament de Sanitat i Anatomia Animals”, specifically in the service of diagnosis of infectious diseases of the UAB (LVDMI). He completed his university career with an internship in the “Dipartimento di Patologia Animale, Igiene and Sanita 'Pubblica'” at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Milan and in the diagnostic laboratory of HIPRA (DIAGNOS) in Spain, where he began his professional career in 2008 and where he continues working since then. His work at HIPRA has focused on the development and implementation of laboratory techniques for the diagnosis of infectious diseases in production animals (swine, avian, bovine, ovine, caprine, rabbit and aquaculture). During his professional career he has continued his training abroad in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory of the University of Minnesota, in the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Iowa and in the European Union Reference Laboratory for Diseases of the Fishes in the National Veterinary Institute of the Technical University of Denmark. Along his career he has attended and published in numerous scientific congresses of animal production and laboratorial diagnosis at national, European and world level. Also participate as a speaker in the “Máster Universitario en Sanidad y Producción Porcina” organized by the University of Zaragoza and also in accredited training courses for clients organized by HIPRA. Since 2014 she works as the coordinator of the diagnostic laboratory (DIAGNOS) in Spain.
